Curious on these motors stock would the head lift after it gets hot with out arp studs. The torque to yield bolts just don't seem like something to keep on a motor that will continue to get hot an cold. Seems like just asking for bad head gaskets with out arp rods. I'm not going to say they will fail, I'll only say that good bolts/studs and new MLS gaskets are a worth while upgrade.

Was working on a daily driver an dealt with these bolts an just don't seem like something to leave them on a derby motor especially with head gaskets being torque to yield also.

I guess that's their opinion, and it apparently works for them. Personally, for the length of heats and way I like to drive I won't run another without bolts and gaskets. Budget affects people's decisions also. At the end of the day, if you can afford good bolts buy them. I've also used and reused cheap speedmaster studs without a failure... Yet. Just my 2 cents I'm not going to say they will fail, I'll only say that good bolts/studs and new MLS gaskets are a worth while upgrade. Looking at purchasing an ultra bell. Do I need to get the one specific for the LS to a 350/400, or will a sbc one work. In my mind if you can bolt a sbc tranny up to the ls, then a bell for that tranny should work. Any help is appreciated

350/400 bell bolt up fine, just the spacing from the torque converter snub to the crank is off,and requires the little adapter for the crank

I have the adapter already for a stock 350/400. I usually run stock stuff too. Just sick of blowing money on trannys.

Anyone running a injected ls have any tips on the tune for the ecm? I'm wondering if its better to run up stream O2 sensors or open loop. I don't have efi live or hp tuners so I have to have the tune done. I have the engine set up with a obd 2 plug so I can have it tuned in a car and running.

Efi will need the upstream to run perfectly, it can be tuned to run in open loop with a few variations. Best to talk to whoever you will have do any tuning to see how they want it set up

I know Jeffy's Fab Farm runs open loop. The more I look in to tunes I'm just going to get Hp tuners and see what I can do.

The good thing is with something like hp or efi is you can still buy someone's tunes and load them yourself if you dont like yours later
I personally would run open loop with no MAF(thinks it's called a speed density tune) if possible
