any issues with them holding up? hear some guys are burning them up but I'm assuming thats because there not running the flex plate spacer ? so its burning the pump Turbo 400s were not designed to run at the high rpms that LS engines put to them frequently, but any reputable builder's 400s will last behind these engines. Improper flexplate spacing may be some of the failures you hear about, but that's on the installer not the trans or builder. yea thats understandable, as long as there built for it and installed correctly its all hopes and dreams after that!

Ok so I'm making the jump to ls, I got a 5.3 out of a 01 Tahoe. I would like to cam it, what suggested cams? And for carb choice I was going to go with a Holley 650 double pumper that I just had rebuilt. and finally how is everyone running their pulleys and mounting mechanical fans? I want a nice clean setup without breaking the bank, show isn't till August so all suggestions and help is very much appreciated! There's a 102 pages of free information right here! look up jeffys fab farm on Facebook , he's your guy for anything LS related , he builds bad ass parts !

If a person uses an adapter plate can you mate an ls 5.3 to a bop turbo 400 and have it work? Or will the spacing be off? Can’t change bell housing in my class and had one of those tranny’s laying around thought I’d use it if I could

I know alot of people had questions about what to do when just running water pump. Go to dayco, and order a belt to length.

4. remove the thermostat and make sure you install a block off plate inside between the incomming and outgoing water passages. Not doing this will not circulate water but just run it in a circle and not push anything into the block or the radiator. Anyone got any pics of how they’re doin this?or other options?

I don't have any pictures but when you pull the thermostat out you will see what needs blocked.

Remove it, you don't need to restrict flow.

I dont remember the size but ive used a washer before and just welded the hole shut and self tappered it in. The bigger fender washer ones that are thin are easy to get the self taper through.
