There's only about a 110% chance it got over wrapped......at least it's only money! Lol right!? Only money! I'd pull the valve, slap another in it from a different cylinder, slap the old head gaskets back on with putty in that cylinder, torque it back down throw the pushrods back in that cylinder, crank it a few times, pull it all apart, and check depth of the putty.

I started using irrigation motor wires....they're long enough to run under the headers and are pre made so no need to worry about having to make your own.

What's the cam preference on a 5.9 Magnum? It will have a stock bottom end and now the debate I'm having is to buy the EQ heads and use an old style intake and carb or stick with the stock heads for now and just buy an intake and adapter to make it work to see if it's something I like.

So what are the benefits of running 340 springs on a 360 head?

So what are the benefits of running 340 springs on a 360 head? This might be folklore but this is the explanation that has been given to me a half dozen times or so. the 340 is what many called the motor with no top end, they'd just rev and rev and rev, hold em open at 7 grand all day and never skip a beat and never float the valves. the explanation for this that I got was that they had much stronger valve springs, they could snap the valves closed much faster and were less prone to floating valves. you could make a swap or just get beefier springs for your 360 heads.

Looking at buying a 360 that is freshly built with a new bottom end and balanced. My only concern is that it's bored .40 over. Is it go in to hold up in the derby world with thinner walls? Is it going to build more heat? Anything else I should be concerned with before I may down any coin for this motor?
