im picking up a 360 with an auto tranny out of a 74 duster this weekend, looking for a few tips on the 360. I plan on switching out dizzys and replacing the timing chain anything else i should do. Also anybody have an idea of what tranny it would be 727 or 904?

could be either 727 or 900 series, a 360 in a Duster is extremely rare from the factory so there's a good chance it isn't original. The big items are timing chain and then making sure the ignition and fueling is working well, other than that it should be OK as long as it doesn't have internal issues.

ok thanks for the info. I read up on them a little bit last night and it seems they have a tendency to spin the main bearings due to larger crank journals any truth to that

I have a stock 318 out of a 74 duster and havent touched a thing other than putting hei in it and replacing valve cover gaskets it isnt a power house by any means but i had flames 6 inches tall coming out of the top of valve covers and it did and still runs the same to this day. ran it at least twice a year for about ten years now

In my experience the Mopar bottom ends are about as durable as you can get.

(Usually) a adjustable rocker has a ball end on the adjuster that require a (cup) type pushrod.
