im going to put a 1992 4.3 in my 1993 volvo im pertty sure its a 700 series ;D 700 series will be a 109in w/base. I know that here we can go 110 inches for midsize/compact and how do you reinforce the struts on any of your volvos? i welded rebar on my tie rods so they wont bend and when i put my 4.3 in i had to take my brakes out and i had a brake setup that i put in from XXX... my rearend was a posi are most volvos posi's? sorry for all the questions this car was just fun to build and what kind of bumper would you put on the front i have a early 80's ford bumper on it

I guess i did a bad job welding my rear end. luckily it wasnt until backing it off the trailer the next day, but it came apart. i pulled the cover and 2 of the spider gears were laying in pieces and the ring gear has a chip or 2 in a couple teeth but the side gears are still intact.
so if i weld them to the case(and do a better job than before) I should be ok, right? or do you think i should replace the whole axle? if so what would be the easiest nonvolvo option?

I don't remember if they have bolt in axles, or c-clippers. If they are bolt ins, you should be fine welding the side gears directly to the carrier. That's how I weld up all of my posi. Haven't lost a gear yet since I started doing it that way

I sold out of my compact stuff and I'm acquiring allot of big car stuff. My friend pnp12 told me to drive the Volvo at fall brawl. It was a awesome ride and I will be building another Volvo for sure.
