yeah has to be then again i wasent still long enough for anyone to get a tire shot on me. did cave over the core support and bent the rad over the front eng mount never lost the rad by the end of the heat i was hitting a regal with the ass end sky high with my 1/8 wall square tubing headers. lesson learned reinforce core support n get front end higher.

Nice side impacts cause the motor to shift and pull the axles out or break the CV joints. It does not happen every time but it happens frequently. Anyway its not hard to prevent, just some welding or chaining.

ok, thats kinda what i was thinking it would be and i dont think either car really took any hard side shots. i might try to convince my brother to do this for run #3 cause the left front rail is going to the side and down causing some tension on the mounts.

Alright, so i confirmed that mine IS an 87 today, and he said it was Carbed (still at the guys house). I have read online that these carbs aren't the greatest, so what would work?i can get a Ford 2bbl and a Chrysler 2 bbl both from 6 cyls, would they work or is that too much carb? Also, since its carbed, is there a need for any wiring? its a manual, so i thought maybe i could strip it like my old iron cars, and wire it like a SBC? battery to distributor, dist to switch, switch to button, button to batt?

I never ran a carbed Toyota but I did put a rochester 2G on a carbed Honda once. I just drilled new holes and made a gasket.

Yeah i was offered a pre ran nissan that they put a single bbl carb on. i figured there would be an adapter plate out there, or i could start making them.

we are not allowed to bumper swap so my dumb question is how can i make the reinforcement bumper stronger and the braces stronger? no welding allowed except on motor mounts.

Is there any way to make these ass ends hard? It days they ball up good but I'm swapping to compacts from big cars and was going to do my trunck like I'm used to with pounding body lines and making a deep dish also like big cars but how do you notch these things? I have a 91 corolla and feel I'm in way over my head with all this wiring and trying to relocate it but the wires under the front fenders are worrying me on cutting them to move them? Any tips would be greatly appreciated in a message if ya'll want to keep it a secret

if i'm correct in guessing you would build a 91 like a 93+ dont notch,if its rusty then maybe dimple. creasing some can make a difference. probably the biggest thing would be putting a steel bumper on the back so the rails dont fold in. also maybe pound the spare tire area up, and hammer the speaker deck down some and run a rear window bar.

It takes some tracing, but the wiring can be move by unplugging, without cutting. If I remember right, you may have to unscrew the main harness at the driver side of the firewall to get it done. The upside is that after you have unplugged it all , it is physically impossible to plug stuff back in wrong, as each connector is unique.
Corolla trunk models bend just fine in the back without modification. just tuck it to keep the decklid out of your rear view.
My take on creasing doesn't change with the class of car....over-rated, unless you are creating a new seam to weld.

I won't lie, I usually weld my trunk floor to the fender from inside when I pound them in...
