But..... like stated above they’re not the same drivetrain they don’t like heat as much as 92-01 but just build it and have fun is the main thing. thats my saying im thinking of dropping my 2.2 gm motor in The problem with that is you’re most likely going to have to make new cv shafts and that will only be half the battle. Just run what you got and have fun. I’ve ran quite a bit of motors with bad raps like old azz 3.3 Buick’s and even older northstars with good luck

Any thing special need done to the 1998 2.2 motors to keep them running good while hot and not go in limp mode ?

There is no limp mode. They are really bulletproof motors and run well without modification. Loop the radiator and go.

Any thing special need done to the 1998 2.2 motors to keep them running good while hot and not go in limp mode ? Not sure how in depth you're looking to get on building it but you can simply the harness quite easily to get rid of most of the wiring. Look up camry simplified harness on YouTube and theirs a guy that shows you how to do them. I just did a 96 and got rid of everything inside the car and the part of the harness that runs through the fenders and core support.

I do. A lot of guys have problems with that pump but i never have. just trying to cover the base's ya know. maybe other guys were having different motor issue and just blame the pump.lol A basic tune up before hand goes a long way.

Would like to pull dash/wiring but still debating on that one. our rules for this show is bone freaking stock.

Looking for some feed back I have a 95 camry wagon I'm thinking of running a team show that will have some well built lumina u think the wagon would hold it's own or should I go w a lumina it b my first camry build.it is a 6cyl thinking bout doing the 4 cylinder swap
