i have done it a few different ways.....you can loop the chain around the axle tubes and either go up through the floor around the "humps" or just use the bolt holes for the shocks or even weld it to the frame.....i'm sure there are other ways to do it as well.....doesn't much matter as long as you have the rear pulled down to compress the springs.

i know that you don't weld a hatch solid on a spirit cause it will bend infront of the leafs but do you weld the hatch up solid on a pinto or will it do the same thing???

i would just take it off.....not gonna help much anyway....if you are worried about that big azz hole then run some #9 across it....and up and down and diagonally and ......well i think you get the point.

the c-3 is a 3 speed auto and the c-4 is a 4 speed auto ...as far as i know thats true....i'm no transmission expert ........the c-4 is a little stouter.......heard they can handle up to 400 hp.......not sure about that but thats what i was told.......

The C4 is also a 3 speed, not a 4, and it is pretty stout...is pretty popular amongst drag guys who keep their Ford cars Ford powered. Not as stout as a C6, but half the weight.

been trying to decide if i should put a standard in my hatch or not it is already an auto just trying to weigh my options. will it be a bad idea, running auto with a built motor and that ranger rearend, or should i just put a manual in. what do you guys think?

i've always had good luck with the auto's......some guy's on here swear by the stick shift transmissions.....prob. just personnal preference and little bit of luck........i think i would dump the ranger rearend and go for an 8"........and get on e-bay and buy a mini spool for it....would hold up alot better i think. thanks c-4.... i thought the c-4 ( coulda swore i just typed that !) was a 4 speed........been running that c-3 forever.....but the last motor i pulled out of my wagon wouldn't bolt up correctly so u had to run the c-4 ( man there it is again ! ).......first time running one.

ok i feel ya on the 8" thats what i usually run with a mini spool. and a set of 4:11s just saying ya know. i always heard that the motor will run like sh*t when it gets hot when you are running a auto is that true? like it has no power?

with a stock 2.3 ? i've never ran out of power but sure as heck got them hot ! hot enough to cook the water pump..... you can try to spin it and let it go and it just twists back and forth like there is a rubber band around it ! other than that it was running just as strong at the end as it was when i started.......just a little warmer.....hahaha
