2000 4 door sunfire, what’s the best way to get the most use out of the rear end on these?

2000 4 door sunfire, what’s the best way to get the most use out of the rear end on these? put gussets from where the strut is to the axle they should be about 12 inches long I use 3/8 x 2 flat bar hard to explain really.I use 1 inch b7 all thread and square tube for the shocks it makes the rear pack and pack instead of folding like the original struts in and plowing

Make sure you shove the spare tire area up also and take the rear bumper off

Well picked up another derby car oh wait it's been my back and forth to work car since 2008 2000 2 door sunfire 190k has been in the Family since it came off the lot first my father in law drove it then me then my father in law and then brother in law then me again then my daughter and back to me never left us stranded saved me a few bucks during high gas prices but went to move her and windshield cracked and the brakes were gone straight to the floor bodys a little rough but I'm sending her into derby pastures

Need some opinions. Windshield class or should I weld her up You should prob crawl under the rear and look at the frame rails from the trailing arm mounts back before you decide to derby it. Seen a few that there were no rails left !!!

Weld her up ppl will tell you there junk and they are not! I have 13 trophys from Cavaliers and 5 of them feature winners and many 2nd and 3rds and as stated above yes the rear frame rails could be gone and they may not be I have ran both and got the same results as long as the front is good and pulling and have the rear prepped right your good. Now I do weld them up pretty good also.

Well the sunfire is totally stripped out I hadn't built a derby car in so long I forgot about how much I hate stripping everything that could have been wrong went wrong first every peice of glass but doors and back window busted I hate glass in my but
