I was going through and putting a ford 8 inch rear in my car and noticed there isn't anything to really stabilize the rear. Has anyone else done some switching and what did they use to keep the front pinion up? Thanks, Dan

Thanks, Dan leaf it if allowed, or carefully cut vett diff brackets off and put on your 8inch, you wont need the pinion to floor mount.

I cut off the coil perches and welded them on already. It just seems that the rear wants to fall forwards. So currently the coils springs trailing arms and rear shocks are connected. Just worried its going to fall forward just with the weight of the pumpkin. And leafing is not allowed.

An extreme chain job will do it, but it would be better to install upper control arm brackets on the car, to make it a standard 4 link rear. Just like a Camaro, that 3 link setup on the car is not very swap friendly.

anyone ever run one without the alternator? I'm allowed to run 2 batteries and I have 2 batteries, and my alternator doesn't work anyways. does anyone know the belt size required to go round just the crank pulley and water pump pulley?

I use one whenever the situation allows. If the situation does not allow me to use one, a full charge on a good battery will do fine.

Will an 80s crown Vic bumper be too hard for the front of this car?

i ran an 80s vic bumper on the front and it did fine. i figured out you need to plate the front floor under the pedals and the seam all the wat threw there or it will bend around the throttle big time! haha also need to do something with the rearend so it dont push forward. mine broke the top coil brakets out of the body and let the rear move around. also get the front end up high and do some reinforcing to the front tires. reinforce the a arms and everything possible and the rack and pinion somehow. a window bar in the back is a must! it helps so much. also need to weld the core support seams to the fenders for sure or they will peal. weld any seams upfront you can it will help a bunch! i ran a 2.3 in mine and it was way to tight on the drivers side. i broke the fuel pump after being hit in the front passenger tire a bunch of times by a corrola. run a few and everything with these cars will come easy. a roll over bar is a must in these too!
