we had good luck with a dienasty we ran, the radiatior stayed intacked and in good shape but it was a 4cylnder, and being front drive the car saw mostly reverse action. Only thing I notice about these cars is if the trannys in these don't hold up worth a crap.

yeah on the 4 cyl there is plenty of room but on this 6 cyl there is none. The radiator and fan are practically touching the engine as it sits. First hit is gonna splatter it, or so it seems to me.

I ran a 1987 Reliant earlier this year wasn't able to get it ready for the last derby of the season What broke: tie-rod : really important, double them with rod or weld angle iron on them CV joint : when the tie-rod broke the CV popped out and I lost some pieces of it, I had to put it back in because the subframe started to bend a little and I didn't have a replacement Steering column : mounting points broke after a frontal hit. Ignition switch broke and the whole column was loose. Important to wire the car without using the ignition switch. And attach the steering column other than with stock points. Now I need help to figure out how to wire it. I tried some combinations without success. There are 4 wires; pink, red, yellow and blue. I drove the car on and off the trailer. Unless I'm mistaken pink is current from the battery, red feeds current, yellow and blue are used for start-up. I used a toggle switch between the pink and red and tried to make it crank with the yellow and the blue directly on the battery positive and nothing happened. I also tried to rewire it as it was originally and nothing happened.

for the guy with the wiring problem, hotwire is pretty easy with these cars and it has been described already in this thread. I talked about it some in my post at the top of page 6

Ive ran a Chrylser LHS before it ended up pertty good. What should i do to a Dodge intrepid? 1996 Or just build it like i did the chrysler. the back of that went up and in and the front stayed perfect until some solid cars came after me. Oh and that front was just stock.

I was wondering if it is somewhat easy to carb my Reliant. Early versions of the 2.2 came with either an electronic feedback carb or a standard holley 5220 carb. Do the Holley bolt right on the intake or I would need it as well?

Carb was the easy part. Home made adapter plate. Spark to match, without the computer, was the hard part. We modified a dual points Toyota distributor to fit.

Thanks, how about a VW distributor? If I remember right the Chryco I4 was based on a VW engine.
