Do you guys recommend any notching on these hatchback accents? I know it's recommended to move the rear bumper up but what is a good way to make sure the ass rolls up good? And would building a kicker off the back of my cage behind my seat to the shock towers by the wheel well somehow on my car help the back from going so quick?

Personally, Ive never notched or prebent a Kia-Hyundai. It has always been tuck and go for me. I run mostly stock type shows. They always seem to pack in just fine by themselves. As with any car it has allot to do with your rules, how much you weld on the trunk, allthread, what bumper, bumper height, ect.

Alright. It just seems like everything I've read on these things is that the back end is very weak. I plan on welding the whole trunk lid shut with 3/8 strap steel and beading the top corners in before I weld the trunk where the window meets the trunk lid and top of the quarter panel in the corner of the window frame. I figured if i did that than after some hits it will want to roll up. I'm just not sure with these hatchbacks because you guys said the floors want to go up, and the lid wants to go down which would result in the ass end dragging and I don't want that at all if you know what I mean. I might do away with a rear bumper as well or just run the front stock one on the back and fill or plate it because my rules allow it, just has to have a stock appearance

If you can keep the rear as a whole chunk, it soudn't be that bad. Maybe by hammering down the rear posts a bit, you can get the rear to roll up.
I derbied two of those and I never got the ass end dragging, the lid isn't long enough. I would adress the rear suspension before doing some bodywork on these, both cars I ran ended up as 3 wheelers.

Never have been able to, I only run bone stock shows.
Make it solid, replace the shock by a tubing. Angle iron on both arms would be you best bet.

827 I think I'm going to try to build this one myself, but i may need some help on my next one. Do you live close to me? And I did one side of the rear strut today. Replaced the shock with pipe and I think it should help.
