I will never understand getting rid of MAF sensors on a good running engine with EFI and a computer. The computer has a hard enough time trying to figure out why we are trying to kill it. Its about like all the people I see running without an air cleaner. I simply just don't understand. I never will. It might run "ok" without one but why do it? Its just asking for junk in the engine and potential fires in the event of a backfire. Im not a master mechanic by any means but on every compact I have ever ran, I kept the engine mostly stock and never had any issues. Ironically most of my compacts don't even have an engine light on because any mods I do are to trick the computer in to thinking that I am not doing to it what I actually am doing to it. JMO

Keep them on all your cars from now on..keeping the MAF will never hurt you. No real benefit to removing it.

Never seen a MAF car run worth a damn without it, if it will run at all.

Even on the rare occasion where the car runs fine without the maf,, it will run like crap when it gets hot

You gotta understand that in almost every system, the maf controls how much fuel your dumping. More air=more fuel, less air=less fuel.

I wouldn't worry about removing vital engine parts, Id spend my time fixing the junk struts. They somehow collapse and leave the car a low rider.

The weak spot seems to be where the chrome cylinder meets the bottom shaft of the strut,, as for what you can do,,, what do your rules say on suspension? Different promoters all have their idea of "stock"

Not all promoters pay attention to every rule either. It would be really helpful to talk to someone who's ran the same show your going to and find out which rules you really need to worry bout.
