Thanks, this is a stock no mods demo. I do a few things to help strengthin the car. Rules are simple. No weldinh to the car except for a windsheild bar. They limit amount of chains you can use. They dint want them to last. But I will weld up the mounts as per your responce. Got the car for a song, not what I wanted, but I have one. It is what it is.

option 1- wrap in chain, yank off
option 2- sledge
Option 3- It's bolted on, near the wheel well, and from the back side to the frame rails. There may be a few more, you just have to be patient, wiggle it around, and feel for where it's attached. Once the bolts are all loose, you must pull it straight off, as there are slides on the bumper that go over some round brackets

Ha nice. Once you get it off in pieces you'll realize how it's supposed to come off and it would have been easier that way haha. You actually might be better off using a sawzall to take pieces off at a time. Use a medium blade, works best on plastic...

This is a video of how it should come off, start at about 1:20...it's a newer model escort, but the unibody design is the same and yours is very similar. www.youtube.com/watch?v=de9ajtSznPMI'm pretty sure those sensors are for the airbag...I've always just cut the wires from them, after airbag removal...

I have read the escort threads. Just a question I havnt seen covered. Can you flip the mani on a 1.9 4banger? Do the holes all line up if I wantbto run a stack? Iknow on a 95' it can't be done. Quick question. On an escort lx, if you get rid of the wiring going to the shifter will they have problems shifting from 1st to 2nd gear? Thanks..

1994 Ford Escort Gt Guy claims it will not shift gears once the engine gets warm. Any guesses why?
