i would try a different fan and see what happens. like tbrell said, the fan could be on it way out or the alternator may be getting weak in its old age.

Fan doesn't get hot and I have ol on meter so I guess the alternator is just getting old. No load its fine with load weak. Our derby last about 30 to 45 minutes but I don't plan on lasting that long. So it should be ok to run but thanks for the help

If the battery has a good gharge to start with, 13.1 will keep it that way.

So, i was 95% done with this 1989 escort GT when i lost the injection pulse. . . with only a few days before the derby and only a quadrajet 4 barrel carb laying around, this was my solution. . . And here you can see the dirt bike tires on the front of the car. . . ignore me. . . focus on the tires lol

There's a relay under the dash that's has a white cap on it that causes that. Mine just did it the other day. I went through all the wiring and found this relay and it was bad.

I ran my first escort last weekend. All i have to say is you can not let others hit your front wheels. 1st hit, broken tie rod on driverside, second hit drove passenger side axle into transmission and I was done. Transmission has a tennis ball size hole in it now. I made one hit with the front and I was done.
