Any chance an eagle wagon could compete against vics and old iron In a pro class setting? Allowed 1 inch all thread for the front mounts... Allowed to weld one frame seam firewall Forward .. Allowed 2x2x1/4 box tubing kickers to behind the front a arms... Allowed w 4" by 11"x1/2" plate on the front of the frame... 9 leafs... Loaded bumpers... Full cage out of 6" box tubing and a 6" box tubing gastank protector shoved into the rear unibody tight... Would have a 350 with full cradle and dp with tranny protector... 14 bolt full floater rear...slider shaft... Or is this all just crazy talk and would be better to start with a full-size.. My theory is the gastank protector would stop it from dumping for quite along time... And the front couldn't really bend easily... The weakest part of the car would be behind the trans crossmember and in front of the leafs.... What kind of subframes do these have?... Allowed full weld on the body seams also.

If you can keep a-arms/ball joints in it.

I'm allowed 1 inch allthread through the front to replace shocks... Can weld the top a arms down solid and can use aftermarket balljoints.. I've got a couple back in the yard but never really thought about trying one til now. . what kind of sub do they have in the front?

Thought you would say that... Maybe I'll see if I can put a Vic crossmember in it to welded side to side somewhere around the strut towers for the motor to set on... Similar to an 03

Like he said, with a couple more details, Hornet is 108", Eagle is about 109.7 ............. Getting an Eagle to pass inspection as a Hornet or Concord depends on the compact competence of the inspectors. If one were to swap control arms and spindles off a concord onto an eagle would that bring it back to a 108" wheelbase? Or is there more involved? I don't know if that would effect the wheelbase or not...moving the rear axle forward would. To someone who knows what they're looking at, the front hub is a quick tell...rwd hub VS 4x4 hub, as is the wider tunnel in the Eagle...wider to accommodate the transfer case.

I have the opportunity to pick up an 82 Eagle Wagon. I was looking for a car to run in the bone stock compact class around here. Anyone know how these might hold up against a bone stock w body? Ive never ran any AMC cars so would be going in blind. Feel free to private message me as well. Thanks.

Very stout overall cars with decent rules, but going into stock builds, bear this in mind; the bumpers, bumper brackets, upper a-arms, upper ball joints, and rear axles are all junk.

Do the wagons need any help in the rear in a stock stock chain build? Or will they do as needed if left alone.
