Alright guys, I have a 96 I have shortened 4" on the nose, welded my core support back on, and cut off my crush boxes. What is the best way to make sure this front end doesn't bend? I wanted to drop the sub bolts and stuff but the more I think of it it seems it will be too hard. Would I be better off to put some tubing in the frame then weld on a pair of bumper shocks? Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on what your rules will allow. If you can stuff the frame, then do it. If not run the longest set of bumper shocks you can find welded to the outside of the frame (i run chrysler bumper shocks. theyre 17" long).

So the 3speed toploader is the best trans as far as durability?

Looks like it man, I'm just not sure about the linkages. If you need details on it pm compact75. I'm about to build one this spring. You just need a bellhousing off a 2.3 fox with a(don't quote me in this) manual. The bellhousing I'm getting is off a 91/92 foxbody. Two bolt holes will align, the others have to be drilled.

Gotcha. Anything on these trunks, my spring break is next week and plan on knocking it out. I've heard crease it, weld it, suck it to the floor, so basically like a Vic?

That's how I plan on doing mine. With a notch just behind the rear bumper shock and possibly another notch a few inches from the hump. . . but I haven't ran one yet, nor have I really looked at the rear frame setup. . . I don't drive backwards anyway.
But I would push the spare tire up, weld trunk and suck it down in the middle but leave the quarters upright as much as I could.

Haven't heard much on a stock 3.8 superM. I run a 2.3 myself and others mainly run 2.3's and 4.3 v6's. Get you a t-5 bellhousing clutch pressure plate and all that jazz and give a 2.3 a whirl with that 5 speed haha

I made one work on a driver for the time I needed it. 302 in a fox body with the fox bell and 94-95 t5. Took the pilot bearing out completely.

Any tips on how to strengthen the struts on these?

X2 on the struts without making my own or getting stupid. I've heard of an upper crown Vic a-arm swap but don't want to have to worry about busting ball joints.

Ball joint protectors. Easy fix and way stronger than struts.
