Running a 2000 model. With a fiberglass trunk lid. Rules state I have to keep it on hinges and must remain 50% in stock location. Looking for suggestions. Will a 96 metal lid would at least bolt on to hinges? Thanks I got those pictures for ya hopefully the metal trunk will bolt right up. Can you tell if the hinges are the same?

^shouldn't be a problem, look pretty much the same from what I remember. Worst case scenario, drill new holes in trunk lid and bolt it through if they don't line up.

Just wondering if an 8.8 from a fox body gt will bolt right up under a 4th gen or do you have to do any fabrication to the housing to bolt it up just trying to see if the mounting locations are the same

The only problem you should have is if you are running rear brakes. Most foxes are rear drum and the 4th gen is disc

that makes sense. So a taller rim is key when running disc brakes, but not to tall that it becomes a target.

I'd more or less be looking for the opportunity to ditch the disc brakes.

I always take mine off the back on my 4th gens so I don’t have clearance issues with my rims. Then get foxbody hubs with calipers, rotors, and what not so you can run 14in rims up front with mobile home tires

Welded up my 7.5 axle About 2 cups of gear oil came out when I removed the differential cover how many quarts of gear oil is suppose to be in the axle?

Weld the side gears to the carrier, and if you are feeling fancy, weld the spiders to the carrier as well. Not sure on quantity but I probably wouldn't spend money on gear lube on a stock 7.5. Put whatever is cheap or free in it, it won't care for at least a couple runs.

I've even filled mine with used motor oil a couple times. Have dry run it a couple times too.
