Anyone been welding the diffs on these Taurus ? Is it a major pita to do ? I couldn't find an easy access point. That's why I left mine alone.

It'd have to be a huge advantage if you could weld the diff solid just wonder how deep into the trany you'll have to be to achieve this.

Should be an easy fix with creative welding and scrap metal. It doesn't have to steer or have power to it. Just needs to roll.

I think it was cast iron that broke. Can you weld cast iron?

Cast doesn't weld very well but it can be welded

Heat it up first, then weld it!

I'm almost wondering if it would be better for you to drill some holes and 9 wire it together...

I was thinking to remove the cast iron altogether and replace with a piece of square tubing or other scrap metal. Drill holes and rebolt on?

As long as the rules allow it, why not ?

I tried jacking my roof up and beating quarters down and dimpling like 513monster on a wagon I ran and it didn't help any but I left bumper on so without bumper it might work. I have a spotless 97 Taurus I wanna run at metal destruction in Cuba NY and wanna know best way to rig floor shifter because the way it shifts is it swivels so would the ready rod work?

I bought a B&M unimatic floor cable shifter. Worked perfect for my taurus. Only mod needed was cutting the factory end off the tranny shifter mount and welded it to the end of my cable connector.

Where did you get the shifter?

Internet. Bunch of stores sell them online, Search google. They sell many different lengths of cables so be sure to get a cable the length you need or a little extra for movement.
