Use an internally resisted coil.

I was wondering if the newer 2.3(tempos) and the older 2.3 would bolt up to the tranny... just curious

its carbed so i dont need any of the wires under the hood or the vacumm hose on the firewall? Just wire it like the diagram and get rid of the rest of the wires and tubes and all the other junk? Would like to make it as simple as possible wanna start using the motor in some other cars

how do you know if it has "duraspark" The big gray box at the bottom of the picture is the ignition module for the dura spark system Otherwise, it will be tfi, with 6 wires in a straight line going into the module, hich is in the base of the distributor. . I wired it just like the diagram that C4 posted above. Everything is modular for ease of transfer between cars.

Dura spark has wires going into base of distributor as well, but tfi has 6 of them ad they are in a straight line.
First couple times I tried tfi, it screwed me, so I don't use it. Soon as engine got a lil hot, module would fry. Don't remember how to wire it either. I always recommend dura spark or points.
