I was pretty inexperienced(not that I am much more at this point) when I built my Tempo. It was only my second fig 8 car and first derby.
I bolted a bumper on the factory shocks, stuffed the deck lid into the trunk, and notched the unibody frame and got it started going up. It was doing okay, but a hard shot made the whole thing go straight up, probably not the most desired result...This is just my experience with the rear...

Can't double...but can you run just an extra sidewall between the wheel and tire? That's all I do anymore...doubled allowed or not...

Fellas, got a 91 topaz with a 2.3. It hasn't been running right so I plugged it up to the tester. Read a mass airflow sensor which I replaced also with a coolant temp sensor which i replaced as well, but the last one was an egr. I crawled under the car to cut off the cat and realizied that the whole bottom part of the manifold was busted off (Which has a pickup tube that runs up to the egr to the best if my knowledge.) Am I going to have to replace this manifold to get the car to run right (I hope to god not) or what's my best bet? Car runs but not very smooth and falls on its face when it is given fuel and cuts out. I have cleand the fuel system out but haven't messed with plugs or wires for the test didn't show a misfire.

I got a tempo at an auction! After look at how the fronts were held together to resold it and bought something else! Just the sway bar holding the control arms on didn't give me a good feeling!

Lol..watch some of the compacts on youtube. On my channel ..Wembley Demo. 2 tempo..topaz ? Slaughtered by a Honda... I think the Honda won last year as well lol The rules these guys ran can be found at Wembley demoition derby.com I believe. They will be the same rules I am running..except for full size.
