If front frame is ok then you won't need the sheet metal flapping around. But if it is starting to "belly" then I don't think it is ok .....? what kind of cage do you have in it, if any? usually the ass-end will start to roll up and thus sink from the leaf spring supports going up.

Preparing my 69 for it's 2nd run (got stuffed in a hole with 3 cars left the 1st time around), havn't got picks yet but the rear is packing much like the pic of the 33 car above. Was wondering if I'd be better off running a smaller tire on the rear next time? My thinking, and I could be wrong, is that with the rear setting alittle lower any hits i take will only be beating the bumper in towards the speaker deck and help prevent the humps from kinking as fast. Am i on the right track here or way off base?

Heres the questions of the day. Have a set of GM shocks and brackets from I think an olds and have to mount them upside down considering the curve of the plate and the body. By doing this it puts the shock on the bottom instead of the top. Im worried about bumper height by doing this. Would it be better to use the GM brakets or use the stock brackets?

whats the best year of a suicide to derby ? The front frames are the same from 61-69. The 61-63s' wheelbase is shorter than the others by a couple inches.. 61-63 is diff. than 64up

Plan on cleaning away a fair amount of the quarters to keep the tires clear. Not planning on going with a real small tire just figured if I dropped a size or 2 it would help with clearance and keep the rear in place alittle longer. ~xxx~ pretty sure I have a set of olds brackets on one of my lincolns and I did not have to flip them in order to mount them. Just drill the holes in the bracket so that it can be bolted on through the stock holes in the frame of the lincoln. Use bolts that thread through the stock holes, I use ones alittle longer then stock so that I can put a washer and nut on the inside as well, and then weld the bracket to the frame. I can see why you want to flip them over but there is no need to do so.

'61 to '63 had the shortest wb and length. '64-'69 had a wb of 126". The '66-'69 had the longest overall length and the sheet metal differs from the '65 and older.
