Stock cradle has to stay in place with our rules, also all suspension has to be bolt on. so the upper a-arms bolt to those 2 holes in between the stock cradle studs ? also how did you bolt the lower control arm up is it bolted into the cradel you build or to frame?

In reference to the above set-up, I do think it is a unique set of rules where you have to leave the stock cradle in, but you can add a whole pile of extra steel around it.

The rules for 03s an newer here say - aluminum cradle must stay in place and no welding parts to the frame an this set up is fully bolted to the frame and aluminum cradle using stock bolts and bolt locations. I'm sure they will have something to say about it but its to the rules haha ;D

Thats what I was thinking. I may have to try this sort of set up if I ever get a 03. Looks like it should work well. Keep us updated LOL

Very creative idea. I was thinking about the same thing but my promoter shot it down

promotoers need to understand it takes very little frame side welding to make one of these 'legit', while this idea is creative, show me a promotor that doesn't want you to weld about 24" but will let you hang feet of 6" c channel cut to angles and welded and tied into the factory bolt/pins?
as a driver yea its cool as a tech guy...i'd write my rules intelligently enough to eliminate this and as a salesman/builder of these era frames i know how much work on is done right but that above adds about another 5 hours and is wasted time to appease a rule that was never intended to be built this way when the box ford cradle swap is really the easiest part of the retro fit process

i will agree with jimmy on how easy it is to fit an 80's cradle into one of these.. i was like most and thought man this is gunna be a major b...h to do.. but once i actually started a jack and couple of jack stands and a torch made the process actually rather simple.. had mine cut out of the old frame and put in the 03 frame and complely welded up in less than two hours.
