Looking for some advice on controlling bending. I've always ran light limited weld cars with sbc power and built my cars so most of the bending happened at the boxes. I'm going to be running a 93 in a 80s stock wire class. Stock 4.6 only welding allowed is stock bumper or square tube welded to front edge of frame. I can collapse the shocks and weld those as weld but only to the front of the frame. No cutting of frame is allowed. I'd like to keep my bending a arm forward as much as I can to avoid taking out the starter on the 4.6 would you run shocks or ditch Them? Run stock bumper hoping it will take some pressure off the frame or swap to tube? Thanks.

Ditch shocks and factory bumper.

Hardnose and cut the cradle for starter clearance. Probably better off running 1/4" tubing than the stock bubble bumper.

Quick question. I've a late 80s vic running limited weld rules. I'll post rules in here. I'm confused on the bumpers. The bumpers on the car are aluminum backed bumpers. Wouldnt hold up I don't think. I have the 2x4x1/4 tubing. Could I just weld that square to the frame, front and back, and just cover it with the aluminum skin? Not trying to hide it at all just trying to make sure I don't get there and then scramble for a bumper last minute. Cause I haven't been able to find any other bumpers as of yet so I know I won't last minute. Any advice is appreciated, just trying to get an understanding of these rules. Posted in the Ford Bumpers 101 thread but no luck.

I'd almost consider collapsing shocks and welding it to them and welding shocks to the frame. Straight to frame will make frame bend fast. Just weld it good to keep it all on.

This might have been covered in here somewhere but as I was studying how I'm going to fix my 80s vic passenger front horn i just got the idea would an 03^ front horn work on an 80s frame or would it be to narrow? Cuz got me to thinking if it'd work why not restub an 80s frame aarms forward with an 03^ aarms forward and itd do away with the bend up front and itd be straight. Anyone done this or am I just dumb for thinking about it lol

Steering is still a issue on them but some have it figured out.

I am building a box vic. Motor swaps, lower cradle, weld Aarms, bumper swaps, rear end swaps, change body bolts etc. I am allowed a DP or tranny brace. Not both. It has to be one or the other. Which one would you choose?

How would you do the trunk? Allowed creasing and window bar. May be welded in 8 places max with 3x3. Threaded rod through existing body mount hole. No hump plates.
