Those ford to chevy ski mounts or just drop stock chevy mounts in an weld? any aftermarket chevy to ford mount or the stock 80s ford lowers fit about the same as them if you don't need the heavy duty ones. gm lowers you need to cut the hump out of the engine sub.

Just use stock Chevy lowers and weld to the K frame. Add some filler metal (1" round bar, etc.) on top where the Chevy mount sticks up above where the frame goes horizontal toward the a-arm.

Whats everyone doin with the very back body mounts since u cant access them easy? cut a window inside the trunk right where they come up and torch out if they don't loosen. Then use a rectangle plate for the top since not a lot of room to put a plate on it. Don't be afraid to take some material out there alot of strength there and will actually affect your roll if you dimple/notch in front of that. Like it to roll some there...

Have a 89 wagon and not sure how I feel about it. Rules allow 4x12x3/8 bracket, (4) 4x4x1/4 plates anywhere on frame. Allowed to tilt at the boxes but no kickers or dp. First time in a Ford so not sure if I should take the box wagon and frame or take a 98-02. Thought about building a wagon/98-02 hybrid. Any input? I’ve read more on the 98-02 thread than I have on this one.

hump plates? watts conversion? Yes and yes. Knew I was forgetting something. 22x6x3/8 plates. Also allowed solid suspension if that makes much of a difference. Wagon is also a gusset frame.

Either are good cars. I built a identical wagon to them rules minus hump plates. Learned a lot had fun and it look bad ass... I guess i'd say the 98-02 is the better car. Wagon is the cooler car. So depending on what your planning on going to the show for and what other shows you have in the mix. I'd say build the 98-02 for them rules and save the wagon for a non conversion or non hump plate show. The fronts of the 98+ are not that much better that it be worth stubbing it over and cutting up 2 cars.

I think the 98-02 would be easier to deal with since the show is heats and feature. I think I’d rather take the wagon to a one and done show and not have to worry about trying to fix the back end of it if it doesn’t do what I want it to. And wagons are always cooler 😉

Do metric gm spindles bolt onto box vics? have to put a gm upper ball joint on the arm or ream out the spindle for ford upper. The are weaker and shorter than a box vic spindle fyi
