Any of you all shorten these cars to front k frame mount? and move motors back to fit enough room for rad and fan? I ask because most rules around me state can shorten up to front body mount and that one is unibody besides k frame so would be the first mount. Then to my rules I'm allowed 14 inch by 4 inch plate by 3\8 thick behind the bumper. I've tossed around the idea to do one of these because their cheap an still decent cars vs a Doba but I think a Doba would be there better car but would want to see how promoter acts with it so short in front. I'm allowed 4 plates 4 by 6 one fresh and then as it bends I'd be allowed 8 more.

These torsion bars go side to side. You lose some strength there. You wont gain as much as you think your gonna. I know what your wanting to do but its not worth the gains for one of these. Even if an R body or doba there still isnt much to shorten but id be more willing to attempt it on one of them vs a dippy or aspen or volare.b. juat because on R body or monaco or doba you have your torsion bars going front to back vs side to side.

I'm going to be putting a 8 3/4 rear end under my dippy. I'm allowed 9 pack leaf, 1 1/2 stagger, and 5 clamps. My question is how many packs is too much on these cars where should mount the perch. I can't weld only bolt

I can't weld only bolt we did the exact same thing and snapped eye on both springs main. Good cars but I think the body moves to much to put a set up like that under JMO.

I've decided to shorten the springs instead where is the best place to shorten them to unless you can bolt up Thru the trunk it's kinda hard to get anything to hold Well, I've built the back ends like a doba flip the shackles it will help and keep it a little low it will go up nice.

Where should I place the shackle on the frame. I see there's a little hole closer to the humps should I go through there ?
