are the footwells and firewall areas OK? Can you move the trunklid down to the floor and bolt it through the frame rails, then hammer the fenders over to make a wedge?

Yes, those are all OK. They are pretty strick about the car looking stock at this place. At least before the first heat.LOL They did let a car in last year, that had the trunk tucked a bit. So I'll tell the driver about your tip. He just might try it. Thanks!

That might work. It'll be up to the driver. But I sure will try and get him to do it.

i wouldnt notch it.... add two bolts under the seat between the original body mount and the tranny tunnel.... get under the car and look up... youll see EXACTLY where it goes...

i got a 68. whats the best place to add two extra body mounts? should i notch the rear so it dont go sky high? I agree on the suggestion for the extra body mounts but the question "to notch or not to notch" depends on a laundry list of factors (car condition, specific rules, driving style, track conditions, level of competition, etc.) and almost no information was provided. My suggestion is to look at the thread about building Mopar rear ends because this is all discussed in great detail and you should be able to interpret a good plan from that. Besides, if you take a poll of 10 guys, five will say to notch and five will say not to notch. You have to read all the opinions, look at the pictures, and consider the strategies for your situation and make your own call. There are times I would notch and times I would not.

ok its a small track, imp trunk floor n floors are good lower quarters are rusty, there will be some other imps and leafed over caddys, so good competition, and i drive only using the skinny pedal. never built a mopar before so i dont wanna waste it

it's just one of those things where you are not going to be able to step away form the computer satisfied that guys have told you exactly what to do. Too many different opinions about a topic like this and too many factors for there to be just one right answer. Sorry but that's the truth on this one.
Read long enough and you'll see what I mean. There are guys that will tell you only dumbasses notch, and guys that tell you only dumbasses don't, and then every other opinion in between. I've experimented with a lot of ways to build trunks and have had a wide variety of results both success and failure. The only thing I say you shouldn't do is weld the trunk lid down as is and walk away... you have to do something to the trunk but there is no magic formula for it.
Personally, for a sub Imp I wouldn't plan on making a single hit with the trunk. I know other guys are going to banzai the trunk to try and take the car out so I would usually build it to roll in on its own. Read the "how to build Mopar trunks" thread and you'll see lots of ideas for individual treatments. Pick a short list of a combination of treatments that you think will make the best overall package for what you want it to do.

I have looked through a ton of threads here looking for pics of someone explaining what the best way to fold over the corners/ hood on one of these Imperials. I have seen it done a lot but not sure on the best way to go about it. I am looking at it and thinking I will need to cut away the inner structure and just fold over the skin, I would like to keep as much of the material as I can, then I am thinking I should weld it in the folded position to keep it from easily ripping off. Anyone have pics of this process or a good way of explaining it for someone that is not too sharp? Thanks.

How about notching the rear framerails and trunk floor right behind the rear leafspring hangers and tucking the trunklid in the same spot on a 67 Imperial 4-dr? Would that make it roll/pack in good? And should i cut off the tips of the rear bumper? like the pcs that are on each end that are on top of the bumper kinda located on the very rear of the quarter panels?

And what is the best way to run a Chevrolet power steering pump to a 67 Imperial steering box? How should i modify the steering column?

I'd say no. But I guess with enough welding/cutting just about anything can be done.
