Are there any major differences between the 65-68 cars compared to the 69-73's. I know that's when Chrysler did the styling change, just didn't know if the bodies or rear frames were any different. I plan on putting an imperial subframe in one anyway so subframe differences don't much matter to me. Just curious if there are any major differences between the generations and what might the best years be. I'm only familiar with the 65-68s, even then I'm not that familiar with them yet.

Floors differed imp subs fit better in the 69-78 cars at least for my personal liking. Regardless you will have to make holes for new body mounts. If your show makes you run body mounts pick a 65-68 because they didn't have sub mounts. So you can suck it up tight. Nothing is major. Add the dog leg mounts off the y framer sub to the imo sub also. Gives you extra body mounts where you really need it especially if not allowed down bars welded to sub

I'm not entirely sure how my dad had his setup, I was about 5 or 6 when he last built one. He went by Rusty Shackleford on the old site. He's got the sub mounting down, was mainly just wondering on differences in the trunk. I've seen several 69-72's blow out the trunk, probably caused from rust and wiring shut the trunk lid. Thanks for the info.

owen11x if I remember right you liked 67 rears the most if I'm not mistaken from my research on y framers.

I remember your dad, but 67-68 are my favorite rears and all around in general. They can be built the hardest and do have better bodies. 69-73 you can get to pack much more predictably. With body shaping. It all depends what you want out of the car.
