You guys are correct, every topside seam from inside the trunk clear up to the front bumper is welded. I don't drive backwards often, and have got hung up do to my back bumper b4, and now our derby didn't allow the bumpers to be welded to the body so I figured I would try the no bumper scheme and see how it turned out. So far I have loved it, the sheetmetal has just absorbed the hits and the frames is 99.9% straight with no real stress marks on it. The torn sheet metal can be pulled back out and welded up. I plan to do the rest of mine this way from now on, until I learn more from it. The front did rise 1inch, will pull it down and fix.
