usually (from my road cars) the piston has some rust or gunk interfering with it and you can sometimes break it up by squirting penetrating oil inside the rubber seal and working the piston in and out with a C clamp.
I just run back brakes anyway and I don't miss the fronts but that is personal preference

I remember reading somewhere ( I think that it was on the old site ) that the clearance between the calipers and the rims are fairly close, and they can bind up easier than other makes of cars with a front wheel hit. I have seen a few stock mopars take wheel shots and the front wheel will lock up or is that just a coincidence?

yes definitely, one of the reasons why I run rears only. Look behind there sometime and you'll see how tight it is. It is so tight that you can't run 14" wheels on a disc brake car

I saw something posted years ago, about putting claipers from a mid-size car on the front. Don't remember what kind of car, but the person said it still stopped well, and kept turning after a hard hit in the rim. Anybody else heard anything like this?

I hate to ask for help, but time is short and I don't really have time to play around. Can anyone explain how to hook a chevy power steering pump to a y-frame steering gear box. This is mentioned in a few short places but never much detail. I'm sure i could figure it out, just need to be working on MANY other things for the derby. Any help would be greatly appreciated and returned if I can help anyone out in any way... Travis

There might be one available, but I had no luck. I made my own setup. And it cost me $10 bucks for an Astro van slider from the local junk yard. My first Mopar steering column set up, as usual I had to use an Astro van slider/u-joint set up. I have used them for years on Vics. I cut the stock Mopar joint in half and welded the Astro van shaft to it. I had to grind some on the Astro joint to make it fit and cleaning out all the 40 year old grease out of the Mopar joint was fun.

Look at adapters, there is a specific Chrysler Spline. That with whatever u-joint should work, I think I used a Sweet one for my Mopar set-up. Oh and you kind of want the u-joint back a tad from the box anyway, just when things start bending and all.

eliminating the brake booster - take the booster & master off the car, separate them - take off the plate that is between the booster and the firewall - match the master to the big hole in the plate, drill four holes in the plate, bolt the master to the plate - bolt this to the firewall - separate the two halves of the booster, remove the pushrod from both halves - connect the one half to the brake pedal, figure out how much longer it needs to be in order to mate with the master and have the pedal where you want it - measure and cut, splice together - don't forget to put in some kind of stop to keep the pedal from swinging back too far and pulling the rod away from the master did you weld a little piece of pipe on that master cylinder to hold the rod some

in that picture I did but that was probably the only time. Usually I just weld or bolt a length of chain from the pedal to the floor
