I prefer stock iron intakes, 2 or 4 bbl. Better thermal stability and cheap.

What are the chances the bolt pattern for a 383 two barrel and a large flange chevy rochester two barrel carb are the same?

What adapter do I need to put a 4412 on a stock 360 intake? I know it was on here some place but cant find it. it has a Holley on it now but it looks like the bolt pattern is to small Thanks Ed

If I recall correctly, its the MR Gasket #1937. but its pretty funky in my opinion. I use one, but I don't like the way the allen head bolts suck down into the adapter without much meat holding everything together. It has made it through 4 shows like it is without causing a vacuum leak, but I would not be surprised if it ever developed one. I would consider running a factory 4 bbl manifold with a better adapter to run the 4412 unless someone knows of a better adapter than the one I am using. I would get you some pics, but its all together right now.

I use a Mr Gasket #1937 adapter and had the same concern, so I took a die grinder and milled out a shoulder around the bolt heads so that I could put flat washers under the bolts to strengthen the joint. Seems to be working ok, haven't had it come loose yet. If you have access to a milling machine you could do the same thing with more precision but the die grinder method worked OK for me and only took a few minutes.

What is the stock carb on a 79 360? Just got a 360 today, thought it was a 2 bbl but it looks like one of those tiny single barrel carbs... is this possible or is it a 2 bbl that when I glanced at it I wasn't looking right... wanna know so I can buy a good carb for it

Probably a carter 2 barrel Travis. The air horn look small with a single butterfly choke plate?
