Are you worried about distributor up Front Not really, I plan on running the AC compressor back on it which kinda doubles as a distributor protector.

Do you have enough 727s ? I have three currently, I am hoping I don't go through too many.

Have you ever tried a 440 It was not my car but helped build a 76 new Yorker with the stock engine. Ran multiple times and won multiple times, engine never came out for anything.

If you have good comprehension no point in rebuilding the 400 put a new timing chain set in to eliminate the plastic gears and run it

400 is a terrific derby engine. My only real problem with them is mounting... The block tabs are really weak and break easy. If you can set it up with some kind of cradle that uses other mounting points to spread the load around you're on your way. I've got a handful of sweet running 400's out back that have 2/3 of the tabs broke.
413 is just a 440 with a smaller bore, also a good choice. All mopar big blocks are good derby engines and all of them have the same problem with the mount tabs.

I have a rebuilt 400 with a little bit bigger came running a edelbrock 650 with a off-road kit and a intake what is everyone running as far as fuel mixtures and timing. Seems like it was running way to rich and would want to load up and wouldn’t wind all the way out like it should?

What’s everyone’s opinion on a BB 413? I see a lot on 400s and 440s.
