"shorten" it in what way, up front? The core support & mount is almost even with the end of the frame rail as it is, I guess I'm not following what you mean...?

Better to keep the gate or ditch it for wire show with bumper swaps ( pair of late 60s wagons)

i wouldnt UNLESS you chain the humps....if your running stock run it high.... these always want to blow the humps... if you hammer the sides of the frame it helps a bit... but id ru nit higher... i did run 1 low with the humps chained and the rails hammered in and it bent nicely in the back

totally agree, the more stock it is the more important it is to get the rear high on a Mopar wagon
Two of the biggest concerns are for it to go down in the back and for the body to shear off the frame and floor. The risk for both of these concerns gets worse with the rear low.

Wat is sedagoning a wagon im running my first wagon this yr Is this a good idea or not I would say on a mopar wagon that its a bad idea. Its when you take the roof of the car C pillar back and mash it to the floor and bolt it.

Its a 73 fury wagon im planing on pulling the ys in the front together bolting them weleding it all up solid then puting bumper shocks in side of the frame welding them then hard nosing my buick regal rear bumper upside down on the front then running a bar over the top with my cage(halo bar i think its called) but runing it throught the boday and welleding it to the front subframe then in the back sub runing 1" allthread throught the frame all the way to the roof and plating it and also taking 9 wire and creasing the roof over the top of the axial and chaining the humps of course with a dimple and or notch or two in the back is this all going to work ?

itll all work.. but some is sort of a waste of time... i wouldnt flip a regal bumper upside down on it... its also going to bend directly behind the ys where you stuffed it...
if your going to a straight up modified show this probably isnt the car for it... id buy something else that wont take as much work...JMO....
for me i like y framers for quick 1 runs....or county fair shows... trying to make them super tough is hard to do...
