Buddy have me a 71 t&c. I be read through here forums several times over but sometimes I don't see everything. All the metal stow and go seat covers. Should I weld these down 4 on 4 off according to rules? I can have 1-6 inch plate on each hump or 2-3 inch plates on each hump. Which would be better? Sides of frame rails with the plates or on top and bottom? I would prefer to build it tough vs to pack. I can have two pieces of up to 1 inch round allthread going from roof to frame. Should I go in between hump and bumper for best results? Or maybe an x across the rear closer to tailgat/bumper? I have all these ideas I'm just not sure which to choose and what people may have had better luck with. I run with imperials. But this year I plan on doing a imp sub swap myself so the front end is good. Thanks in advance you guys are amazing with responses and dmc your vast knowledebase is admirable.

if your concept is to make it stiff then yes I would weld the seat cover down. Hump plates will be a big help, the 1-6" on the outsides is the way to go if you ask me to slow them from pinching together. Flat stack leaves mounted under the frame rails will be key for this plan too. The thread rod can be done several different ways, it is difficult to call one way "best" but I would be tempted to run it from the apex of the humps to the roof with nut & plate sandwiching all panels. Got to keep the floor tied to the body too though at the very back, gonna have to make a call there.

I ran a plumouth fury sport suburban and ended up with a win. It was a stock build. 5 on 5 off on the doors. We were allowed bumper shocks welded to frame and bumpers hard nosed. I put cordoba shocks inside the frame back as far as i could and welded bumper solid and worked great. I chained humps. We weren't allowed hump plates ao notched the back between the spring mount and bumper bracket. Worked perfect. Will bring it out again next yr. If i knew how to do pics id post. Was a very clean car. Alot of upset people that it was smashed. Lol

Rough estimate, can anyone tell me the avg weight difference between a wagon and a sedan in derby form not curb weight, or is there even one? Odd question,I know; but I am trying to figure it out for gearing differences. Basically, how much difference is there in a 318 with 3.73's in a wagon and sedan, can it even pull a wagon around?

Just remember gm engines need gears to make power and to make them sound impressive. Well tunned stock small block mopar with turnouts..with any gear hard to beat that kinda power 😉

Does anyone by chance have a picture or two of the under side of like a 66-67 polara wagon? Prefer a stock untouched one. Normally build GMs but I have a chance to buy two of these. But their 6 hrs away so I wanna know what im getting into first.

But you can haul them right over to me in Wisconsin Bryce save ya a headache

Never really had the chance too do so yet. Reason I would like to see a pic of one to see the layout underneath is because I have a crazy off the wall idea i'd like to try with one haha.

77 Shocker wagon... Any of you guys ever leave the stow and go seats folded down and welded closed? Thinking it might make the floor harder to pack... Also for rear height I'm playing with the idea of putting bottle jacks between the humps and axle and jacking it up until I get the height I'm looking for then clamping the hell out of the springs and taking the bottle jacks out. I'm thinking that clamping the springs under load might create a force that is pulling the rear down or at least a little less willing to go upward if they are loaded with torque thats pulling in the opposite direction?
