It will be hard to match the strength of the clip unless you go with another imp clip IMO.
You may be able to use other early 60's chryslers though(maybe the 300?)

How about a pic or suggestion on whos craddel to use in these. I HATE the boxer engine mounts and since I scored a 3rd member with 4.88 gears, I figured I'd try throwing my SBC in one for the extra room. Or, if the cradle will work, I can use the trusty 383.

What's to much rust for me, might not be for everybody. Can you repair the rust spots? How's the frame?

^ agreed, you can get buy with a rusty body as long as the frame is not too flaky and thin

Are you allowed to patch the floor/body? If so, does it have to be stock type metal? Try a hood/trunk lid to do the patching, if so.

Is the splined shaft on the steering sector the same size as GM? Found out the hard way tonight that its not the same as the other small splined chryslers.

All the 64-66 Imperials I know of use the same connector as all the other 60's-80's Mopar cars and trucks.

Yes, I bought one from sweet mfg and it fits my y framers and shockers, but it won't slide onto the 66 IMP Im working on. I thought I had read a few years back that the input shaft was the same as GM. Is there a different spline count perhaps? That might be the issue too.
