Neither, I cut the back flap on the shock bucket, folded it to the frame, welded, cut the bolt flanges off of the shocks, slid them all the way through the shock bucket so i could weld the shock plate to the bucket, and the shocke to the frame, then welded the bumper to that plate. No bolts used.

This will clear up my explanation, I don't know if anyone has ever tried this, I have never seen it done, so it is an experiment for me, I was going to remove the shock bucket and slide it back to the ten inches from the front of the frame (that is the distance back our rules allowed brackets to be welded to the frame) but this seemed like it would do the same thing. Obviously i ran out of wire which is why the bumper isn't finished being welded to the shock plate.

We did something like that on my promod but with half inch stock amd all the way to the A-Arm welded it to the outside of the frame in yhat urve but on the inside ofthe frame where yours is welded

I planned on using a Chrysler Shock extended to do the same thing on a bop and just blow holes through it to get the box and arm bolts though. What if any dilemmas did you run into with yours?

freakshow, that will work nicely and good thought. However, you could have gotten the same effect with flat stock and sold the buckets on ebay.

Yeah, our rules are pretty particular here, you either have to use the brackets that came with the bumper, or the ones that came with the car, and you can only weld the brackets up to ten inches from the front of the frame.
