Any Pre 76, 10 or 12 bolt should all the same from what I have come across. Other than the 5 different rearend styles there is, 12 bia, 12clip, 10 bia, 10clip, 10/12clip. Axles shouldn't be different lengths unless you are dabbling into 77+ which were shorter but were mainly 28 spline c-clips.

I have a 10 bolt that is a limited slip so I know I can't weld it. But can I put a mini spool in it and get rid of the limited slip clutch packs and make it posi?

Not quite sure but the little research I did they come on 7.5 and 8.5, 7.5s are pretty weak, 8.5s past the late 80s had 30 spline axles, im assuming c-clips. Thats all I could dig up, hope that helps. Along with that I may be wrong so take it for what it is.

Last year I ran in three Derbys and had two broken axles. Built two 10/12 hybrids one bia one clipper over the winter. Have run two derbys this year and have not had a rear end problem. They have been gunning for my axles but have only managed to bend my rims to the silly wobbly stage. Just want to thank this thread for all of the information to help me be a better racer.
