Have 80ish Caprice. Show allows (4) 4x6 patch plates on all cars. Opinions on best places? I'm thinking (2) at S in firewall where they push back at. (1) in front of passenger side A arm where the holes on outside of frame are. What about the last one? Ideas on all 4? Pass side rear at curve where idler arm is. This should then make it give right behind bumper shocks before giving more at firewall. No bumper shocks.. Its hardnosed w/ seam welded 74 monte

Rules allow (4) 4x4x3/8 plates anywhere on frame. No seam welding, hardnosed bumper, a arms welded down, not allowed to wire from cage to frame and stock body mounts. I was thinking one in front of the a arms on both outsides and one on each side inside of the frame at the firewall bend. First time using plates so it’s all new to me. Thoughts?

Based on the one I ran with no plates at all I’d put 2 at the firewall and 2 at the top of the humps. But that’s me. If your allowed to peen the humps then maybe on the front bend of the humps. Can you wire around frame to window?

Not allowed any wire at all on the car and not allowed to peen the humps.

Mine went at top of humps and firewall. The front bumper when it all nosed leveled off by collapsing at the bottom holes near bumper at core support mount. Mine stayed straight in front of A arms besides there. I tucked trunk but did not prebend the rear and I wish I’d have had bigger springs in rear.

Is there some new found info on these? Noticed a lot of guys are buying up gms and trading fords to them.

Never built anything but old iron gms……just built my first ford this year and it was ok. Just curious to everyone’s opinion on how the fronts of metrics hold up compared to 71-76 gms (old iron Cadillacs not included). Rules typically allow 3 4x6 plates anywhere. Are they are hard as ford? Are they are good as old iron? Somewhere in between?
