What's a good stock Rad Support to put in there if you need one that is stock mounting? I'm thinking about cutting holes in the closed Y to have one bolt in.

What is the easier way to pull a caddy 472, the big bolts inside the cradle or the ones attached to the block, first time doing it, thanks for the help.

Ok, so these bad boys really like to move with the stock 472 in them, but id like to have an engine that sits further back than the 472. i have a olds 455 rear sump and a SBC 350 rear sump. I don't think my 350 will move my car well enough with stock gears for the track I run. It was hard enough in my caprice to get it moving with stock gears. Has anyone had any luck getting a bop or Chevy big block in the engine compartment with enough steering clearance and firewall clearance? Or are they a no go.

Big block GM motors produce allot of heat, thats why they are usually not a good choice for derby applications.

That is why I would rather run the 455 and set it way back instead of the 472 so I don't drive the radiator into the water pump. If its possible. And if it comes to it I'm not too worried about overheating. I've had good luck with big blocks.

Why not put a SBC in it and some gears that would fix your problem ;D

It definitely would! I've been trying to find a rearend with gear options that fits in my car. But it's slim pickings around here. I have the different motor options so I was just seeing if anyone's done it before.
