lowers are the same.. uppers are different..

Just pulled in a 70 deville ...was putting a spindle on the front since it was missing one and noticed that the tie rods had a bend in them...on both sides.is this standard on there or did they both happen to get bent? If they are standard will swapping them for straight ones effect the steering in any way?

^^^^This seems to be a common problem in the 65-70 cadillacs I have come across. We ran one set like that and they just bent worse, so a custom set was fabricated to fix the problem, have not had another issue. I haven't looked at my 71-72's yet to see if they have a similar problem, but will check when I am out to the farm next and fill ya in.

mine were off a 75 caddy and they were the same as impalas.. i figured that all the caddy lowers would be the same beings the rearends are all the same from them years?

also when i set my 10 bolt up in the caddy the lower control arms bolted right on.. just had to redo the uppers and the shock mounts

Sorry boys ended up being a late 72 so it is actually a 73 so wrong thread. But I still picked it up and it is CLEAN! Which is a better car, never wrecked a cadillac? IMO the 69-72 are very hard up front! Your rules jusy have to allow you to close the y's up front. If u cant do that then your better off with a 73+74.The 73+74's are hard as well.

i don't know if this has been answered before but is there a difference between a convertible Cadillac frame and a hardtop caddy frame? any help is appreciated and also pics would be nice if anyone has some of the 2. thanks.

im starting on my 71 coupe and what im going to do is make a slice or a pie cut so it will bend easier, heat, clamp, beat.
