Couple questions for a 72 coupe, do i need to cut the trunk braces out on it also, and is tucking the only way to go, i can weld it all the way around and even weld bumper to body, get two pieces of all thread in the trunk in place of the two body mounts right behind the tires, can't leaf or plate humps. suggestions? if you do thta it will go to the ground faster than a 80 chevy wagon. Get all that strengthening out of your head. cut the braces out and start softening it up. if you dont you will pay the ultimate caddy price. The issue is the top of the hump is scalloped out for the large coil spring to fit in there. this then creates a very think spot in the top of hte frame. Not relieving some of the strength just leads to premature hump pinching. Or you can do just like everyone does and not believe it and find out hte hard way. I always ask for them to post their after shots and they never do............embarassed i guess.

Havent run the car yet. July 14th is the derby. And yes I closed the y's on the front wrapped the excess around amd welded it all our rules allow 14" 2x4 tubing in place of bumper brackets along the frame rail so thats welded up front as well as a seam welded bumper hard nosed to everything. Should be hard up front. Ill for sure have after pics
