quick question how come all these old irons sit 8 miles high in the back? Because when u build them low either the humps collapse, the body rips off the frame and pushes the rear rails to the ground, or it bellies HARD at the firewall mounts. The only old iron to build low in my opinion are caddy's, roundbacks, and anything leafed. U don't need height, but going low asks for trouble.

Thanks Derby111! 1973 Impala 4 dr, mod show with hump plates. Note to those hump plating these, the frame behind that with the c-channel becomes a very weak link. My frame snapped in half under the second body mount on both sides during the first heat and it made the trunk waffle. So I wadded it up with the loader and went out for the feature and it pretty much just caved in and stopped. The front end never moved but I folded and destroyed an 80's loaded Ford front bumper. Never seen 2x3x1/4" tubing bend like that. Lol Ended up 3rd when a side door shot broke my battery box lose from the floorboard and ripped out all my wiring. Lasted a little while longer holding cables and wires on but burnt my fingers up and shut it down. Beat out a 74 impala, 75 caddy and several nice vics in the feature. Just couldn't get there.

71 olds, one run so far and one win at one of the big utah shows. Liked this much better than a 4-6.
