how the hell do people get more then one run out of these without adding all kinds of plate I ran one and it was a ball of scrap in 15min. And sandbag is not a option....

I have another run in mine since i broke the steering column out o fit and pulled it through the firewall lol.

i think it has a lot to do with the rules. my malibu, which my wife drives, still has plenty of life in it. the rules are pretty stock aside from being able to leaf, hardnose, and run a dp on 77 and newer gm's. she drove it very hard in the last derby, in which there was about 20 cars. she ran her heat, and the consi. only reason for not making it to the feature was due to a junk carb and killing the battery from restarting so many times. nonetheless, she road it hard and its still in good shape as seen in the pics i posted. i think a lot of it has to do with the leafs, but also it has the stock front bumper (77), which was only seam welded on top with the corners folded back and welded. other than that i collapsed the shocks and welded everything solid. i think the front bumper is taking the pounding rather than the frame horns. the car does not have a dp on it either. the front frame still looks cherry, and she nosed it quite a bit...
