Hi all I'm still figuring out the whole carb thing. When I step on the throttle my engine hesitates then revs up I k ow it's a fuel issue. I've rules out the pump and pressure. Can anyone give me some ideas what could be causing it.

What's the best way to make a 2g use Holley jets? I've read tap and die but also heard since the threads are almost the same if you slowly work the Holley jets in and out it will do the same.

Buy a 1/4-32 tap. Be very careful you get the tap straight it's easy to strip them.... Just a heads up tho you've gotta do more than just swap jets otherwise you're setting yourself up for failure.... There's the idle and pump circuits and power valve you need to take into consideration also

Ok I have a stupid question..only because I can't seem to find a dang air filter kit to fit....I have a 2brl Rochester carb not sure on model but the top of the carb where the air filter would sit is only about 3 1/4" diameter and I can't seem to find one that will fit...all the ones I find are either way to big or not quite big enough...I've never had this problem before usually the cheap $20 one bolts right on but not this time...if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it

Derbyparts.com has an adapter they sell that will allow you to run larger air filter on Rochester 2 barrel that's where I got mine from no complaints

Hey all I started my car up after the winter and it idles fine but as soon as I hit the throttle it dies. Can anyone point me in the direction of what might be causing the problem?

Can anyone give me some ideas what could be causing it. I know it’s old but iv had this problem a lot also. Checked accelerator pump it’s good. Iv often wondered that having it idled up to much could cause. The. Because it opens the butterflies to much mess with the idle and mid range fuel circuits iv read that if you. Put to much of a cam. In a motor you need to drill a small hole. In the butterflies to let more air in. With out messing with the idle circuit

My idle is tuned to factory idle. The engine is all stock. It did t do this until it sat over the winter.

It seems to be if I ease into the throttle it will rev right up with no problems. It only does it if I give it a quick jab of the throttle

Hello all,
Not necessarily a 2G, but we run Holley 2-barrels on all of our demo engines. I had a new problem in my last show this past weekend. The car ran fine running/driving, and if I "sandbagger hit" someone. If I laid into it and rammed someone good it would stall out immediately every time. Where should I look to fix it?
-Check float level, appeared correct. -Turned up Idle, still occurred after -Carb was rebuilt last year, clean so far as I know.
Thanks! -Tim 96
