71 delta 88. Leave the stock bumper skin on back or replace with more heavier back monte bumper? Depends on rules, but stockish type build leave the stock one on.

How are all of the suspension parts in these cars?

The suspension is just fine on them, certain things like balljoints can be improved, but stock for stock its hard to complain about old iron GM vs any other car.

Dumb question alert, but I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere.. I have a ‘73 impala I’m trying to hard nose, and I can’t seem to figure out a good way to do it. I’m using a ‘76 (I think) monte bumper that has side frame shocks. I’ve been told to remove the box that the ‘73 bumper bracket originally mounts to, but that will put my frame rails behind my core support, and take away my core support mount holes. Rules won’t allow me to move core support back, so I’m just curious if I should use stock shocks, hard nose to the box, or what else? Thank you.

Here is a 73 with collapsed bumper shock, 73 horns moved back, everything welded solid.

I’ve got a 73 Buick that I am hard nosing with an L shaped plate welded to the bumper, 10 inches long. I squared off the front frame rails but the bumper sits right up next to the core support which I do not like. Anybody have any suggestions for a remedy? I have 74-76 shocks I could weld on but I would like to use the plate to cover the BOP hole in the frame.

Put a spacer under core support and get it up away from bumper.

My understanding is just swap the spindles an should bolt right on. The s10 an Astros will get u more height then the fords. does it matter what year of s10 or Astro spindle you need for a 72 Caprice to raise the heighth or can you use any year?

Building a 73 olds 88 and I swear there's more room in the engine bay than my 71 impala. Any truth to this or am I just imagining things since it was so short after running it.

Yes, the front is longer by a few inches. It's why the firewall BOP frame is slightly flatter than impala

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone could help out. I purchased a 73 Pontiac Parisienne which is a Canadian Catalina as part of a package deal. It's 2 door ht with a seized 350 in it. Good frame, good floor, good trunk. Some rust in the lower quarters, but definitely usable. My dilemma is I'm a Mopar guy (we all have short comings, mine just happened to be Mopars. Lol) and I've been trying to trade this to any GM guy within 100 miles for a Mopar of equal shape. With EVERYBODY avoiding this thing like a Senior citizens cruise ship named the "SS Corona". Of course everyone wants 74-76, but if these were junk there would not be a build thread for them. All of the derbies around me are stock to light weld rules, does this play a major factor in no one wanting this car? I have read quite a bit of this thread, but not all. Most of the discussions involve welding. What are these cars generally worth? I guess I could build it for myself if I absolutely had to, but I would still rather trade. Thank you in advance 🙂

The channel rear rails does scared some people away from them especially people that haven't ran one.

I didn't think it was the wrong move on getting this Poncho, but I've had about six GM guys turn their nose up at it.
