Any car will eventually bend somewhere, and that 'dogleg' at the firewall is where you want it to bend. An Impala will go back then up at the crush boxes. You do not want it bending in front of the A arms. You can try your Charger bumper, I just saw a doba style bumper on the front of a crown vic get all bent up. I am not a fan of flipping 74 bumpers, but some good builders do it and they must have a good reason.

musta been a different syle bumper then.. cus if the one i have bends.. someones gona be in the hospital.. its built alot like a chrysler V but not so much point in the center.. Only reason i toss around the idea of fliping the bumper is when the impact on the bottom it would create a slightly negitive impact to the frame making it resist going up so fast. Mabe I think too much but it makes sense to me ha

I've ran a lot of the big body olds cars... the inner fenders aren't needed, you'll be okay

You can change the back bumper if you want. Most of us just use what's on it.
I would run the olds clip. You might check around the battery area to see if the battery acid has rotted it any. Fix it if that's happened. Don't part out another good car, like that caddy. That caddy will be tougher than the olds. You need to do some folding and bolting up front on your olds clip. Trim the ends of your bumper so it doesn't stick out much more than the tires. A 76 Chevy bumper works well for an olds.
