I don't know but it really doesn't matter. Cars don't bend under the doors. Don't make this an issue on wether or not to pick up a car.

Are 71-73 Rivs, 98, Electra's boxed under the doors like there 74-76 counterparts? c-channel between doors, but have not seen or heard one blowing out between doors

My 72 riv isn't boxed, will check out the 72 rive gs when I get out there next,
My next questions pertaining to the 71-73 riv, is there front frame different than the other bop's like the 74-76 riv? Are they the same stub as the 74-76 riv? Did all Riv's come with the 3:42 gears in the 12 bolt bia? or only the gs? or just depends what was ordered?

I've been running 71-73 GM's for years and love them. If you have any questions on them PM me. Alot of the information is contained on the old link thread but if you have specific questions I don't care to help. Alot of the information being given on here so far is of the opinion variety and not necessarily a list of what absolutley should be done.

I read through the old thread front to back many times, but the rivs were rarely covered, SO I was wondering if they fell into their own category like the 74-76's

I just picked up a 1973 2D Impalla this weekend, never ran one before, used to mopars. I plan to switch front bumpers, and tuck the trunk in one of the million ways i have not decided. Im not sure what show i want to run it in but its gona be a fire wall forward weld with hood and trunk pins for sure. anything thats abnormal about how these fold up? One week spot seems to be at the firewall were the frame curves. any advise would be greatly appriceated!

71-73 RIV FRAMES ARE SAME FROM FIREWALL FORWARD AS A 74 RIV. IN 75 THEY MADE A DIVIT IN THE FRAM RAIL TO CLEAR THE EXHAUST, THE 75-6`S BEND THERE UNLESS FIXED... YOU CAN RESTUB ANY 71-76 GM WITH THAT 73 RIV STUB, BUT WILL HAVE TO RUN A LONGER FRONT CLIP TO COMPENSATE FOR THE EXTRA FEW INCHES BETWEEN FIREWALL AND A-ARM.. A RIV CLIP WILL BOLT ONTO AN IMPALA FRIEWALL FOR THOSE WONDERING....
