Just want to make sure im understanding all this right.... Backend low means body peels off the frame. Backend high means it will belly.... But if we run them in the middle with 9-wire from roof to the body mount in front of the humps, this is probably best?

Really depends on GTP, body bolts, seam welding, body creasing, how clean the car is, type of rear bumper and mounting, amount and location of rust repair, amount and location of nine wire, size and location of roof sign, rear window bar, and size and design of your leaf springs.

All door/trunk seams welded solid on outside with 3" wide strap, 1" body bolts with 3x3" washer on top, stock 74 rear bumper and brackets, 2 loops of 9-wire allowed per door window, GTP must be 3" away from sheet metal, small roof sign, rear window bar may only connect to 3" of trunk and 3" of roof, factory 9 leaf setup..... What would you suggest doing?

Im no wagon expert. I have only ran a couple. I typically run them low in the back. I usually spend most of my time trying to hit the back of wagons as hard as I can. Besides chasing women it is my most favorite thing in the world.

Take the motor off to free up gate and then unlock gate by monkeying with the latch. I have unlatched with the key or cut a hole in the sheet metal at the latch. When this is done you should be able to position tailgate where you want it. Then secure.

HALFWAY DOWN IS BEST, A THIRD DOWN LEAVES TOO MUCH ABOVE THE REAR PAN.....

Thanks guys. Do I need to bolt the gate to the floor underneath when I put it halfway down? I have never done that. I have welded it in place and or chained it. Bearing in mind it probably will be jambed in place after the first real good hit. JMO.

Bearing in mind it probably will be jambed in place after the first real good hit. JMO. I plan to weld it with 2" wide strap. But figured sucking it together underneath with some allthread may help things hold together even better. Just didnt know if id be waisting my time.

Up helps the 1/4s, down helps the floor. Halfway helps both. JMO

Also running the tailgate down halfway helps with visibity once the ass end starts to bend up. I use to cut a hole in the tailgate in the shape of Chevy emblem to score them cool guy points but then realized that I never looked back.
