^^^^^ I would suggest in not mounting your springs like that in the front. When the car bellys it will drag in the mud and catch everything on the track. been there done that, its what took me out by making the trans over heat. I plan on running allthread to the roof and to the halo bar to try to keep it from bellying for as long as possible.

I would suggest mounting them in the frame or on the inner side of it. Like in the original lower control arm holes.
As for bellying out and being done. By mounting them as pictured you are lowering your car atleast 4". With slider shafts you can actually belly a car so that the tires are off the ground and not loose the drive shaft.

that makes sense but the way we placed them the mounting bracket in farther ahead than the original 4 link holes. Wouldnt that be better??

I just noticed how your shackle was. They should be folded the other way so they are tight to begin with. The way that they are they will allow the hump to kink before the leafs do any good. You might be able to pull it down far enough to get the shackel tight and then chain it.

ok i get what you are saying, we build alot of roundbacks and thats how they are before we chain them down, and yes we're gona chain this one down its way high in the ass end.

I converted a 85 wagon to leaf spring. Chained it down the other day and its sitting about 23 inches off the ground. Thats 23 from the floor to the top of the bumper. Is that to low?

What kind of leafs do you guys use? I was thinking about swapping in a 12bolt rear? Or is that just a waste of time?

Swapping to a 12 bolt is never a waste of time IMO. We take a couple sets of truck springs and make our own set. Flat stack of 9 does pretty well .
