Hey guys.....new guy here. The shop wants to build a chain and go. One guy has a rebuilt 350 with cam so engine is done. One guy has a 89 caprice classic wagon. I have the ability to weld the cage so team effort. What do we do with this car being it's really newer than what most run I've seen. Anything helps. Pretty basic rules.....not much we can do....cant even weld on bumpers. Lol factory rear end. Read through the pages. Many answers your looking for already there an there's a picture thread too I believe. Feel free to ask little more detailed questions an you'll get good answers. If you quote the rules your building to guys can answer better.

My rules allow me to run a one 6x6 plate one each frame rail. Must be firewall forward. Ill be running dp frame seams welded firewall forward and a 10 in plate running from the bumper toward arms. My question is where should I put my 6x6 plate

My question is where should I put my 6x6 plate Idler holes or s curve for me Spring pockets are where my gms now bend even with no plates or protectors I can fix with "ball joint protector" plates at some shows. And then it bends at firewall again

What can i do to the front to make them tough? I would put plate at front arch in two plates plug welded an turned as a diamond shape an let in bend a arms forward. It's one of them pick where you want it to bend. Or get to welding an grinding an making it look factory

It will be tilted and leafed. I am going to work on it later and most likely swap them to fords.

I got a Olds custom cruiser wagon 9 inch tilt with bumper shocks on top of frame an no one had cleared that bumper on stock spindles an a arms welded down with tall coil springs in rear.

My leaf rules aren’t the best, 5 leaf max, 4 clamps per pack. But not allowed hump plates. So not sure if I wanna run it to low. Hopefully I can’t get some work done this weekend. Won’t be tilted to much.

Won’t be tilted to much. mine was just a inch pie cut out. I ran mine low but I was only using the nose in light weld class. I cut the metal behind arms and gave me a good 2inches. Plus after I notched frame in rear pulled bumper up and rewelded notch. The bumper sits a mile high now. I need to lower it when I set leafs in. Then I’ll tilt it.
